Chiefly correspondence of the family of Henry Haynsworth Wells (1804-1879), owner of Mt. Hope plantation, Sumter County, S.C. Letters addressed to Caroline Emma "Callie" Wells (1847-1921), Ann Elizabeth Michau Wells, William R. Wells, Lydia Louise Henrietta Wells (1836-1879), and Esther Elizabeth Wells Snider.
